Relaxing Massage or Swedish Massage is typically scheduled around your most stressful times. Most individuals who receive massages to eliminate stress typically schedule every two to four weeks. Depending on their occupation, home life, and past/present experiences.
Deep Tissue Massage - Deep Tissue Massage is a form of bodywork that aims to relieve tension in the deeper layers of tissue in the body. Deep Tissue Massage is a highly effective method for releasing chronic stress areas due to misalignment, repetitive motions, and past lingering injuries. Due to the nature of the deep tissue work, open communication during the session is crucial to make sure you don't get too uncomfortable. Keep in mind that soreness is pretty common after the treatment, and that plenty of water should be ingested to aid with the flushing and removal of toxins that will have been released from the deep tissue during the session. Deep Tissue Massage or Therapeutic Massage is typically scheduled when you have an acute and/or chronic pain flare up. Some of the techniques used in Medical Massage is A.R.T or Active Release Therapy, PNF ( proprioceptive neuromuscular facilitation), and MET (Muscle Energy Techniques) It involves releasing tense muscles, helping to stretch and lengthen tight muscles and tendons, and relieving compressed nerves within soft tissue. When you are having Medical Massage Therapy done, you typically have an injury that has been diagnosed by a Physician (not your neighbor or the internet)! You are being seen by a Physical Therapist and/or Pain Specialist and even a Chiropractor. Massage therapy is added to the mix to aid in assistance of your recovery program. Medical massage should be done and scheduled according to your Physicians instructions.
