Description of massages we offer:
Swedish Massage - Swedish Massage is a very relaxing and therapeutic style of bodywork. It combines oils or lotion with an array of strokes such as rolling, kneading, and percussion to help the body improve its circulation. The benefits of this type of bodywork are wide-ranging and include relief from aches and pains, decreased stress levels in the body, enhanced mental clarity, improved appearance, and greater flexibility. Relaxing Massage or Swedish Massage is typically scheduled around your most stressful times. Most individuals who receive massages to eliminate stress typically schedule every two to four weeks. Depending on their occupation, home life, and past/present experiences.
Deep Tissue Massage - Deep Tissue Massage is a form of bodywork that aims to relieve tension in the deeper layers of tissue in the body. Deep Tissue Massage is a highly effective method for releasing chronic stress areas due to misalignment, repetitive motions, and past lingering injuries. Due to the nature of the deep tissue work, open communication during the session is crucial to make sure you don't get too uncomfortable. Keep in mind that soreness is pretty common after the treatment, and that plenty of water should be ingested to aid with the flushing and removal of toxins that will have been released from the deep tissue during the session. Deep Tissue Massage or Therapeutic Massage is typically scheduled when you have an acute and/or chronic pain flare up. Stiff, painful neck, headache/migraine, low back pain, sciatic pain, sinus pain and pressure, shin splints, plantar fasciitis. Most of these condition individuals live with every day of their life. Some days are good and some are really bad. That’s when you schedule your massage. We recommend that if your someone who suffers with chronic pain, stiffness, and sore muscles and are being seen by a Physician for your symptoms that you get on regular scheduled massage.
Medical Massage Therapy -Medical massage is a style of massage therapy focused on treating painful conditions that affect the soft tissues of the body. Because medical massage is designed to treat medical conditions, it requires extensive training. Some of the techniques used in Medical Massage is A.R.T or Active Release Therapy, PNF ( proprioceptive neuromuscular facilitation), and MET (Muscle Energy Techniques) It involves releasing tense muscles, helping to stretch and lengthen tight muscles and tendons, and relieving compressed nerves within soft tissue. When you are having Medical Massage Therapy done, you typically have an injury that has been diagnosed by a Physician (not your neighbor or the internet)! You are being seen by a Physical Therapist and/or Pain Specialist and even a Chiropractor. Massage therapy is added to the mix to aid in assistance of your recovery program. Medical massage should be done and scheduled according to your Physicians instructions.
Sports Massage - Sports Massage is a type of massage designed for highly active people who engage in athletics. Engaging in sports is harsh on the body and can often lead to injuries in both the short and long term. Sports Massage enhances performance and prolongs a sports career by helping to prevent injury, reduce pains and swelling in the body, relax the mind, increase flexibility, and dramatically improve recovery rates. Sports Massage is also highly effective in aiding the rapid recovery of an athlete from an injury by encouraging greater kinesthetic awareness and in turn promoting the body's natural immune function. Sports Massage is typically scheduled and given in two ways Pre-Event Massage and Post-Event Massage.
Pregnancy Massage - Pregnancy Massage is a style of bodywork designed specifically for pregnant women. Pregnancy is a time when a woman's body endures tremendous stress due to dramatic physical and emotional changes. Using various techniques specially developed for the expecting mother, Pregnancy Massage helps release the pain and discomfort experienced throughout pregnancy. Margaret Cole, LMT
I was born and raised in Tulsa, Oklahoma, where I attended Monte Cassino Middle School and Bishop Kelley High School. In 2013, I attained my license for massage therapy through Community Care College and Clary Sage in Tulsa. I would best describe myself as a dynamic compassionate massage therapist with a calm and soothing demeanor. I have 4 years of experience working to help my clients relax and relieve their pain. Specialty massages including: Swedish Massage, Deep Tissue Massage, Medical Massage, Sports Massage, Pregnancy Massage, and Reflexology. It’s my job to be the best hour in your day. But that’s just the tip of the iceberg. Massage therapy feels fabulous for a reason - It works. It is physiologically and psychologically potent. As a three-time cancer survivor I believe I bring a unique and empathic approach to healing.
